Bible ownership and giving out gospels

One difference I notice between reaching people in the UK and the witnessing clips I see from the USA is that most Americans have a Bible at home whereas most people I meet (and I am mostly focusing on youngsters, below 30) say they don't have a Bible in any form.

I think I am going to carry some Gospels (for evangelism, I prefer Luke) and give them to anyone who says they would read it and looks serious.

Reading the NT was instrumental in bringing me to Christ.

Do other people use Gospels? What are your thoughts?

I am involed in a student outreach during university term times every friday night starting at 11:30pm until 3 am.

I would like to request prayer support for this as we try to reach Tomorrows decision makers.

I am also looking for a witness partner to do similiar over the summer holidays.

Covert Recording of Street Evangelism

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I have been listening to the new Ambassadors' Alliance Radio with Tony Miano and Bart McCurdy which I thoroughly recommend. Especially a recent programme (20th Feb 2009) when Tony witnessed to a young couple in a shopping mall.

Engaging in chats on bus journeys

I find an enjoyable way of sharing my faith to be chatting about ordinary things to a person near my age and same sex while seated next to them on the bus. Having a freedom-pass (over 60) I do this a lot. I have begun to pray a 3-fold prayer lately, issuing from a study done in a cell group. I pray for an open door, then for courage to overcome the fear and go through the door, then for a relevant word that is anointed for the person I'm talking to. It doesnt always come to a witness, but very often does. A side-effect of this is that I'm becoming more friendly and chatty in general.

Christ Alive 2009 - BLackpool Aug

Hi Everyone,

Christ Alive 2009 is an outreach to the public at Blackpool on the Promenade near North Pier taking place on the Fri and Saturday of August Bank Holiday 2009.

Bobby Ball will be sharing his testimony live on stage, with entertainment from US Blues hero Rev Jimmie Bratcher and many more.

We are looking for extra volunteers to help engage the crowd who will gather to watch the events, which will all be Gospell centred.

We can arrange some accommodation in either Christian run Hotels or I am sure members of the church could also put people up.

Gospel Tracts

Do you ever find it it annoying that Pizza Hut and other take aways throw menus in our doors. Hardly anyone reads them.

What would be awesome is what if someone threw a Gospel tract through our doors.

A little booklet with the Full Biblical Gospel on it and on the outside I would have paperclipped a Million Pound Note on it so people's eyes would take a interest and read it.

The Good thing about this is that were actually bringing the Gospel of Eternal Life to their doors and because it's new and fresh especially with the One Million Pound they will read it.

This way many people will read it and on the Day of Judgement they won't have any excuse to God saying that God did not try to save them.
